This year, the VOW team is stepping out of our comfort zone. We aren’t just walking, we are taking on one of the UK’s most extreme climbing experiences. It is safe to say this will be our toughest, most exhilarating challenge yet.
Our destination? Via Ferrata at Honister Crag.
Derived from the Italian term for "Iron Way," Via Ferrata is a high-level mountain route engineered directly into the rock face. Using a system of robust iron cables, ladders, footholds, and bridges, it allows climbers to safely scale heights that would otherwise be entirely inaccessible.
For 2026, we have set our sights on the formidable XTREME route.
What Lies Ahead:
- High-Altitude Traverses: Navigating exposed mountain edges hundreds of feet above the valley floor.
- Vertical Scrambles: Climbing across steep, rugged, and highly challenging terrain.
- Cliffside Navigation: Working together to negotiate narrow gullies and towering rock faces.
- The Burma Bridge: Testing our nerve on a narrow three-wire bridge suspended over the chasm.
- The Sky Ladder: Conquering the iconic, breathtaking ladder that stretches high above the dramatic landscape below.
